Lets talk about a hidden jewel right in Magic Kingdom! This is one restaurant that I am literally kicking myself that we hadn't explored before! Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen! Across the walkway from the Jungle Cruise, this Jem is hidden, looks small from the outside, but looks deceive!

The charisma and enthusiasm from the Jungle Cruise, continues here for your meals! It's almost like the jokes traveled for Niles and Niles and Niles, and if you don't believe me you are in Denial! (My daughters favorite joke!)

Dinner service was wonderful. This is a One table service meal if you are on the Disney Dining Plan. Well worth it! My husband didn't have too hard of a time finding himself a steak to enjoy!

For his entrée that evening, he ordered Dr. Falls Signature Grill Steak ~ A marinated New York Strip steak, with jasmine rice, braised black beans and bacon, and a side of cherry tomatoes (grilled). The steak was tender and easy to slice into at it immediately arrived at our table.
Dr. Falls Grilled Steak - $35.00 On the Menu

For Dessert, Quick Sand!  A Jasmine rice pudding, pineapple, Hibiscus, mango sauce, and lemon curd. Very delicious!
Quick Sand - $8.00 On the Menu
For myself, I enjoyed a taste of Lamb, which only at Disney on the dining plan do I adventure after and enjoy this delicious dish! Baa Baa Berber Lamb Chops were medium rare, and very tender, almost fall off the bone! The roasted carrot puree was a delicate touch to enjoy! This was served with a cauliflower and arugula salad with a citrus dressing.
Baa Baa Berber Lamb Chop - $28.00 On the Menu
For dessert, and for a change I took the chocolate cake, Kungaloosh! This is an African Inspired cake with caramelized bananas served with Cashew Carmel ice cream with a dusting of coffee dust. Amazing, moist and the flavor combination sent my taste buds into a food coma!
Kungaloosh - $8.00 On the Menu
This meal was definitely one of my top 5 on this last trip! I couldn't have enjoyed it more. Don't make the same mistake that we made and push off trying this!

Now on the kids side, I can not answer as to what was available since we were having an adult dinner, but the kiddos at the table next to me had steak, plain with vegetables. I am thinking, that's a pretty good meal! As always, you can explore the menu on My Disney Experience or on the Disney website yourself to make sure that there is something for everyone, but I suggest exploring instead and taking that chance! https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/magic-kingdom/jungle-navigation-skipper-canteen/menus/dinner/

Enjoy your next visit to the jungle!

Foodie, I am a Foodie!
I spend a lot of my vacation time at Disney. Why? I am intrigued by the people there. I am blown away by the food. I mean do I look like I miss a meal there? I do venture to other places. I honestly do, but my first love, is Disney. So lets chat about what they have to offer. Now, as we start talking, one thing to know that you will see a lot of in my posts, is that my daughter has a gluten allergy. Disney caters to her. Literally caters to her needs. Her allergies are protected there. I don't worry here, and she feels as if she can be a normal kid again. Okay, sappy time over, lets talk food. First restaurant to explore, my favorite, California Grill.
The California Grill sits on top of the Contemporary Hotel, which is also one of the first resorts that was built at Walt Disney World. The California Grill is a signature dining restaurant that does accept the dining plan with two table service credits. ( We will chat a bit about dining plans later!)
The food was amazing, the atmosphere modern and sleek gave a welcoming warm feeling. The elevator though, I think maybe time for a new one! If you have the opportunity for a visit, this is a must do! I have to say, I do miss the Lavender and honey cake! One of my favorites!

Our family opts for the Deluxe Dining Plan. Again, we don't miss a meal, and love our adventures with food. With our meal comes a beverage (coke product, juice, lemonade, etc.) or specialty alcoholic beverage, if over 21, an appetizer, entrée, and dessert.
Here are photos of my meal:

Why do this? Why talk about where I go? Who cares? Well moms do.

Lets see. As a mom, a perfect vacation will go with absolutely no troubles, right? Airport security is a breeze, you have the easiest "scan" process, shoes on and off, easy. Next your flight is on time. Everyone waits their turn to board when their zone is actually called and doesn't hover around the gate when they are zone three, and they are still boarding priority seating.  You get your entire family seated and take off is pleasant and a perfect flight. As you land, everyone deplanes accordingly as you would in an orderly fashion. You go to retrieve your luggage at the baggage claim and it's the first one coming around on the carousel! Lovely. It's almost like birds are chirping and woodland creatures and singing songs in the background. You then go to your shuttle or rental car with no hiccups and are on your way to your resort. You arrive to a perfect hotel with your room ready, change into proper attire for a swim, everyone is happy and you post a great selfie with a fun hashtag best vacay ever.

Okay, I couldn't even type that without laughing hard. Yes I am a travel agent. Bonus if this blog helps me, but more bonus if my little craziness of a traveling life can help you. I have picked up little tricks here and there traveling with now a pre-teen, all women, a mother and mother-in-law at the same time, (heavy handed drinks were a must during that trip) family members, and a husband (which should be in it's own category) to help you have a vacation. Let me lay the story out for you how a typical travel day can go...….

You arrive to the airport via hotel shuttle, because getting everyone to the airport at 6am with a two hour drive in the winter, not happening. Plus they have the park and ride hotel discount! BONUS! First, the shuttle is freezing and the driver is scary. You finally arrive to no carts available outside, and your driver dropping everything at the curb! Thanks dude! You haul everything inside, no agents are open yet, except for the one at the far end, you haul your luggage all the way down there, and it's for handicapped assistance only, but they opened another ticket agent where you just were. Are you catching my drift? This is a true start to a vacation!

As moms and even dads, we just have to brush it off and move on! So with these little notes and reviews of food and hotels, I just hope that they can help you make decisions based on my honest and most humble feelings. Scary feelings are probably a better description, but hey, have to have some sort of sincerity!

All I can say for now, is welcome to my blog!
